Origin Story
The 1718 Signature Blend is a masterful creation by founder Mohamed Hamdou, honoring the year coffee first arrived in the Americas and began its journey to becoming the world's most beloved beverage. This carefully crafted blend combines the finest beans from three distinct origins: the fruity complexity of Ethiopian Sidamo (40%), the balanced sweetness of Colombian Huila (35%), and the bright acidity of Guatemalan Antigua (25%). Each component is sourced from smallholder farmer cooperatives we've built long-term relationships with, ensuring consistent quality and ethical practices. The beans are roasted separately to highlight each origin's unique characteristics, then blended to create a harmonious cup that's greater than the sum of its parts. This is the coffee we use to train baristas, conduct cupping sessions, and introduce customers to the art of specialty coffee—it represents everything we stand for at 1718 Coffee.

The 1718 Story
Our name commemorates 1718, the year coffee plants first crossed the Atlantic to the Americas, beginning coffee's global journey. This blend embodies that spirit of connection—bringing together the birthplace of coffee (Ethiopia), the Americas (Colombia), and Central America (Guatemala) in one harmonious cup. It's the coffee we're most proud to serve, the one we use to train the next generation of baristas, and the perfect introduction to what specialty coffee can be.
Traceability
Each component of this blend is fully traceable to its cooperative and region of origin. We maintain detailed records of harvest dates, processing methods, and import documentation. This blend is cupped weekly at our Dubai facility to ensure consistency, and we adjust the roast profile seasonally to account for crop variations. Featured in all our barista training programs and cupping sessions.
At 1718 Coffee, we're committed to knowing the people behind every bean we source. Questions about our Signature Blend's journey? We're here to share the story.
